Is Creation by Intelligent Design?

Since very early in life I have tried to read every thing and anything that would make me understand my own emotional holes. When I figured out where my nervousness and shyness was coming from and started feeling comfortable with myself I realized that being normal was not enough because around me there were people who were super cool. So I said why not try to become like them? So my quest for super maturity continued. One of the best sources for me was the obituaries in the NY Times and in the Time Magazine from these I learned the essence of the experiences of the departed beings. And the kind of article that attracted my attention was any questions related to the mega questions of life. One of these articles in the Time magazine was, 'Nobody knows why nature tosses a billion sperm when one can do the job'. So I forgot everything else. It is something in us Lucknow citizens like the chess players of Lucknow in Satiya Jeeth Ray's movie anything can be happening; an earth quake can...

So the next two weeks I forgot to shave, eat or sleep. I set myself to figuring out this great mystery of life: Why indeed nature tosses a billion sperm when one can do the job. So I went about writing down all the facts that I could decipher from this fact of nature. And this is how I proceeded.

1) It is a real honest to goodness authentic life and death sperm race.
It became very clear that nature wants only a winner to be born every time.

a) The next question became why does nature want a real winner and why would nature let so many sperm die?

It became apparent that nature wants such a real winner because nature wants to give the chance of life only to the very best of the very best and in order to insure a real heavy weight champion of champions nature had to make the sperm race real and really huge. Throwing a billion sperm into each sperm race meant giving the chance to any one sperm to be the best in a billion! So every birth that takes place ensures the birth of a champion of a billion sperm. So nature has insured that every human being born is the winner of the billion sperm race. That includes you and me and every one else conceived naturally.

Now to ensure a billion sperm race champion it becomes clear that nature had to use a billion sperm. This answers the question posed by Time magazine.

2) However why is the sperm made so tiny and the egg so huge?

For the simple reason of logistics and the practicality of the amount of bodily material required to produce a billion sperm of the size of the egg. Just imagine a billion sperm the size of the egg. Given the capacity of human energy and the size of the human testicles it would be impossible to produce egg size sperm and store this huge size sperm in such large quantity in the human size testicles. So probably the testicles would have to be made much bigger than the stomach and much more bodily resources would have to be required to produce this quantity and size sperm than required for the rest of the body for survival. Also the pathway for the sperm race would have to be made much larger. At the male end as well as at the female end. Just imagine the size of the testicles needed to produce this size and quantity of sperm. Also imagine egg size sperm trying to get into the same size egg! Also consider dozens of egg size sperm reaching the destination and each one trying to corner the egg. They would probably choke the single egg.

So in order to make it an astoundingly smashing success nature created this perfectly practical formula of a billion tiny sperm race. Wow what a perfect, intelligently designed formula to create a race of only supreme champions. The question is did a Supreme Being create this perfect intelligent design or was it a result of evolution? One thing is absolutely clear; that who ever designed this sperm race did a perfectly ingenious job.

So the mega question is did this sperm race equation start from so called 'Adam' or is it a result of trial and error? Were there in the beginning just an equal size egg and sperm? Did the sperm then become numerous while remaining the same size? Did the body start to become weak with more and more big size sperm? So the sperm shrunk more and more in size and become more and more in number? We may never know. But one thing is very clear to me, all nature whether conscious or unconscious has a built in genetic code that drives it to behave in an evolutionary way.

Perhaps it is a built in trait of every piece of reality/matter ( and I am speculating here ) to evolve towards self improvement. Still it is hard to imagine such a perfectly crafty intelligent design of a sperm race happening by accident or chance or evolution with out some one creating it thoughtfully. Or perhaps someone created this built in property in all matter that matter will always evolve towards perfection; a perpetual improvement gene in all matter.

The question still remains unanswered who designed the sperm race but it is very clear it is a stroke of beyond genius and it is definitely intelligent design either by Gd or by inbuilt intelligent design property in all matter.
