How to live an authentic life.

When you are you then your life is authentically your own.
Take charge of your self image and put it where it belongs: into thin air. When the true you is cloaked under your trophy self image then your life is partly unauthentic. So to have an authentic life know, understand and become your true self.

To have a pure authentic life one must know, understand and become one’s true self; and realize that an authentic life depends on one’s developed humanness potential. The first step is to be able to correctly answer the question, ‘Who am I truly am?’ and ‘What will my life be when I actualize my full authentic potential?’ To be able to answer these questions one must establish an authentic self identity. The main component of self identity is human dignity. So the sub question becomes ‘where does my self identities’ dignity flow from?’ ‘Does it flow from my own genuinely authentic character traits, the qualities of my very own human nature or does it flow from some other source that is not the genuine me?’ It turns out that for the majority of successful Americans their human dignity is powered by their trophy self image. Thus their self identity is defined by their trophy self image.

Thus our human dignity springs not from our genuine character traits but from mostly the economic trophies that we collect through hard work. We feel pride that stems not from the purity of our being but pride that springs from how many mansions and fancy cars we have. And as these are not the true goals of the authentic self the authentic self feels only a guilty pleasure. And as a result we don’t understand why we cannot have pure guilt free happiness.

Again a basic amount of economic dignity is essential for every person’s human dignity and a respectable self identity. Unfortunately the trophy self image decides how much economic dignity is needed for a respectable self identity. And there is no end to the vast horizon of trophies that is within reach for each American. And as soon as one economic trophy summit is reached the horizon expands to show more summits. The trophy self image has a very high economic dignity standard and it is an ever shifting standard. Thus no matter how good the person performs and delivers towards his economic dignity he usually comes up far short of his trophy self identities’/image’s standards. As a result in spite of all the hard work and all the economic achievements the true self still does not feel pure happiness because this is not its agenda. The successes are real but are not enough for the trophy self.

Life’s priorities are all controlled by the self image. The real self hidden under the cloak of the self image is helpless because its own authentic life suffers as its true agenda is ignored by the partly phony self image. Thus our lives are partly unauthentic. If you need to live an authentic life get rid of your self image and become your true self. So please read the related knols of how to become your true self.
