How to raise your child as a champion.

How to raise your child like Tiger Wood's dad raised Tiger: The mind and body training of Tiger Woods.
Tiger Wood's dad did not tell Tiger, 'You are the best'. He did not develop a phony confidence in Tiger Woods. He made him become the best through learning and practice, learning and practice, learning and practice and more learning and practice and more...

I think the two biggest lessons that Tiger Woods dad gave Tiger was Tiger's bonding with the game of golf and training Tiger's body and mind equally to become a champion of golf.

Notice how children begin to point to goodies that they want and cannot walk to get. Before they can walk or crawl they point to stuff they want. They desperately want to walk. They cannot wait to crawl to their longings. One of the biggest thrills of their life is when they can start to crawl to their favorite toy or food. Walking is an exceptionally happy experience for them. Even as adults we never loose our bonding with walking.

Imagine Tiger as a tinny tot just months old watching his dad play golf. In fact I bet Tiger bonded with golf before he bonded with walking! So imagine Tiger's pleasure when he could himself play golf. So if you want to make your child a champion make sure he bonds with the game of your choice before he bonds with walking. So start with your child early just like Tiger's dad did.

The second secret is to build your child's confidence through actually developing his body and mind to perfect the ropes of the sport. Never ever tell your child that he is the best. Make him develop his talent by training, training, and more training. Not only building up his knowledge of the sport but also training his body to become peak healthy. Also develop his emotional intelligence to the extent that he becomes wise and his developed skills don't go to his head. This will result in his becoming a life long learner. After there is no more new knowledge to be acquired your child will on his own experiment and research and expand the techniques of the learning process thus taking the game to a new level.

A true champion always focuses on the game playing in the moment. While playing the game he never thinks of winning or loosing. This is why even when Tiger is behind he often takes over to win. He combines his brain's memory experience and the minds focused leadership with the body's experienced execution depending on the conditions required. He focuses only on the stroke at hand.

I saw a great tennis champion some time back play in the US Open finals. Before even he went on to the court I could see from his face that he had already lost! It is obvious that his father bonded him with the game of tennis before he bonded with walking. So his game was as good as the best player of his time. The problem was that his dad did not develop his emotional intelligence to the same level as his game.

So both the body and mind training are equally important to create sports champions and the key is to bond the child with the sport before he bonds with walking.

HOWEVER THE KEY LESSON TO BE LEARNED HERE IS THAT WE READ TO OUR KIDS STORIES FROM BOOKS BY THE TIME THEY ARE ALREADY ENJOYING WALKING. THE TRICK OF CREATING LEARNING CHAMPIONS IS TO MAKE THEM BOND TO READING BEFORE THEY BOND WITH WALKING. YOU CAN MAKE MATH AND SCIENCE CHAMPIONS BY WRITING ON THE BOARD OR BY READING FROM A BOOK AS LONG AS THE TINY TOT SEES YOU ENJOYING IT. YOU CAN ALSO TRICK HIM INTO GETTING A TREAT EVERY TIME YOU READ FROM THE BOOK OR WRITE ON THE BLACK BOARD. HIS MIND WILL BE A HEAVY WEIGHT OF MATH OR SCIENCE OR ANY OTHER KNOWLEDGE FOR HIS AGE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT.
