"The Self: Understanding What and Who We Are" - Kevin Spaulding

Please let me explain why it is important to know which part of our mentality is coming from which part of the brain/mind complex.
We must understand that different parts of the self identity are generated by the different parts of the brain/mind collective. It is vital to know which emotional identity part is coming from which part of the brain/mind and why. We must know how and why our emotional self is put together. And what makes it become what it becomes. What parts are real and what parts are cast in stone, what can be changed about the self and what part needs to be just managed and controlled. And we must learn what is and are the causes why we have parts of the self that are phony. Why and how do these emotional ingredients, that contribute to the self image, originate and from which part of the body. And above all how these bad parts can be eliminated.

We are a physical, emotional, organic, growing, evolving and self conscious entity. There are parts of us which are physical, parts that are emotional where each impacts on the other. As Kevin says we have to understand what and who we are. To understand our self we have to understand our physical and emotional infrastructure. The most important part we have to understand is what role our physical body parts play in shaping our emotions, because our emotions are generated by our physical body organ, the brain. Our self is an emotional entity where the emotions are generated in the physical brain. We always make an effort to understand our composite, whole self. We must also identify how this self identity is created in order to understand which part of the self image is real and which part is phony. Also where the phony part is originating from; whether it is coming from the brain or mind. If it is coming from the brain, is it coming from the unconscious or sub conscious brain or the conscious mind. Understand that even the conscious mind has approximately four levels. The mind's power comes from the emotional intelligence that is generated in the brain.

The first thing to understand is that the self is a process. It is the final product that we identify with but the individual identity ingredients come from different sources that combine to produce our self identity/self image.

There are the set patterns that come from our genes that are cast in stone. These are the parts of the self that we cannot change, we have to learn to control and manage. These spring from the physical reactions that take place in the unconscious brain. It is just like the brain unconsciously drives the lungs it drives emotions/opinions about its own self.

Another set of self emotions come from the subconscious brain. These are the frozen patterns that are formed over time that lead to a sub conscious self identity that manifests its self as a self image. The self image ingredient that comes from the sub conscious brain is the one that is powered by the EBG that that gets integrated into the brain infrastructure. As the EBG is gradually removed the frozen pattern gradually gets unfrozen and slowly gets eliminated.

Emotions tell us who we are; they also spring from the mind as the mind identifies its own self from the feed back it gets from the current out side in experiences. Including the current outside in identity of its own emotional self, its body, its financial situation, its image in society. Even the mind's own beliefs about its own self as well as its group identity, it all colors the self image.

In all of this the mind's take on the self image is the closest to reality/truth. The mind has the capacity to see the current life/self situation the way it is. The mind reflects on all the liabilities and assets of the self. It is the mind that worries about its self having emotional holes.

Please let me explain why it is important to know which emotional hole is coming from which part of the brain/mind complex and why it is being generated. Lets consider shyness. Shyness is triggered by entrenched emotional patterns in the sub conscious brain. It is the mind that worries about this embarrassing character trait. Many times the minds worry about the shyness becomes a bigger liability than the shyness itself. Because the mind understands that the shyness is the whole self's defect. The shy person takes the shyness as an innate and unchangeable part of the whole self. So he struggles with his shyness without trying to figure out how to get rid of it. This creates all kinds of extra emotional problems. One emotional hole coming from the brain and a second emotional hole coming from the mind.

Thus by taking the mind away from worrying about the emotional hole of shyness, the mind stops worrying about the shyness and starts to focus on how to fix the shyness. The mind is made aware that the shyness is coming from the sub conscious brain. Most people worry that their shyness proves that their own brain/self/mind as being abnormal, this creates additional self image problems. So the mind is woken up to the fact that the brain that is generating the shyness is incapacitated due to the EBG in the brain. The brain itself is not at fault and it is the fault of the EBG in the brain. So the real cause is detected and remember it is only when the real cause is detected and taken care of that the person can become free of the emotional hole of shyness.

Thus it is important to know that our emotions that make our self identity are generated from different parts of our self. That our self is a composite of a lot of different causes that come together to create our self image.
The whole self is not responsible for any given character trait. Many of the character traits like shyness in most cases can be fixed by locating first where the shyness is coming from and then taking the steps of removing the causes that are generating this shyness.
