The myths of the mind sciences.

We call them the mind sciences and yet the mind is not even mentioned in many of the text books on psychology! The time has now come for a great leap forward to take the mind sciences to the next level where a giant stride can be made possible by creating emotional intelligence education. Emotional intelligence education that enables the majority of students to become wise.

First and foremost we have to define the goals of researching the mega questions of philosophy. Do we want to know the cause of the different phenomenons of our being or is our aim to harness the forces of our being to tame and use for the welfare of the individual and society.

For example should we continue researching whether the soul is immortal or should we try to understand the quality and the character traits of the soul and try to cultivate these character traits.

Whether the soul is immortal or not we may never know. However we do know the qualities of a pure soul. A pure soul is humble, selfless, pious, calm, honest...that is, it has all the attributes of wisdom. Wisdom is an all or nothing entity. Which means that any attribute of wisdom also is all the other attributes of wisdom. Thus :

Humbleness = selfless, piousness, calmness, honesty... etc
Selflessness = humbleness, piousness, calmness, honesty... etc
Piousness = selflessness, humbleness, calmness, honesty... etc

So to cultivate them all, all we need to do is to cultivate any one of them. Thus to create a pure soul all we need to do is to create any one of the character traits of wisdom or just wisdom itself as its character traits are the same as wisdom itself. ( This insight has tremendous applications in trying to understand the very nature of Gd and in trying to understand the mind and Being of Gd. Thus in trying to understand our own self).

The pure soul is wise. The self master is wise. The super mature emotionally intelligent person is wise. Thus if we create a wise human being by trying to create a pure soul, or through self mastery or by creating super mature emotional intelligence then we will be creating a pure soul who will also be a self master and an emotionally super mature being.

Today even though emotional intelligence is still a bit fuzzy it has come into the domain of science. Thus I will try to show that we can create pure souls ( in terms of quality character traits and not in terms of eternity), self masters and emotionally super mature beings all in one; through emotional intelligence education. As the highest stage of emotional intelligence is wisdom by teaching and developing emotional intelligence we will be creating wise human beings.

Emotional intelligence is an ability that is to the brain what blood is to the body. Every single person has it as a potential. In the natural healthy way of life emotional intelligence starting out as ignorance gradually should develop into wisdom. However in most cases on way to developing into wisdom, emotional intelligence gets stalled in between ignorance and wisdom. In many cases it is due to the lack of proper upbringing skills. However in most cases it gets stalled just one stage short of wisdom due to parents creating a trophy self image in their children by trying to bring their children up on the belief that they are the best. Even more destructive, a huge chunk bring their children up on trophy group beliefs, that not only indulge in omnipotence transference but also omnipresence transference. As in 'my religion is not only the best it is the one and only one that has the sole possession of divinity'.

I have discovered that not only is the mind real it can even be seen! Our self image is the very face of the mind.
Thus to improve and develop our minds all we need to do is develop and improve our self image.

So lets examine the myths of all the phenomena connected with the mind sciences.
